Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent leader of the RJD, received bail from the MP-MLA court in Patna on Thursday concerning a case related to a protest during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Patna administration had filed this case, alleging violations associated with the protest. Speaking to reporters after his release, Yadav asserted that the case is politically motivated, claiming it was fabricated to prevent the opposition from raising public issues during the pandemic.

Yadav stated, "We have been granted bail. As you all know, this case was registered by the administration during the COVID period. It was a false case aimed at silencing us from raising public concerns at that time. This was related to a protest." He emphasized that the demonstration was organized to highlight the struggles faced by migrant workers and ordinary citizens during the lockdown.

He further explained that many individuals in Bihar had to walk home due to a lack of transportation facilities during the pandemic, leading to significant hardships for workers. "You know that people from Bihar were returning on foot. There was no proper arrangement for trains. Many laborers suffered greatly, and some even lost their lives. We protested while adhering to the rules and raised the public's concerns, but the government filed a false case against us," he added.

Yadav appeared in Patna Civil Court regarding this matter, which pertains to alleged violations of COVID-related restrictions during a protest held at the peak of the pandemic in Patna.
