In a shocking turn of events, Tamil actor Ravi Mohan has announced that he is quitting acting amid his ongoing divorce proceedings with estranged wife Aarti Ravi. The actor made the emotional announcement during a press conference held in Chennai on Saturday.

Fighting back tears during the interaction, Ravi Mohan declared that he would not continue acting or release any films until his divorce case is resolved. The actor appeared visibly distressed as he addressed the media after weeks of intense speculation surrounding his personal life and his reported closeness with singer and spiritual therapist Keneeshaa Francis.

The actor, previously known to audiences as Jayam Ravi, spoke to the media a day after Keneeshaa Francis announced her withdrawal from social media and revealed that she had left Chennai following sustained online criticism and trolling. The controversy surrounding the trio has dominated Tamil entertainment discussions in recent days, particularly across social media platforms.

Speaking at the press meet, Ravi Mohan said he had endured years of “unnecessary humiliation” and could no longer remain silent. According to reports, the actor said people had mistaken his soft-spoken nature for weakness. He also used the Tamil phrase “saadhu miranda kaadu kolladhu,” loosely interpreted as a warning not to push a calm or patient person beyond their limits.

“Until my divorce comes through, I will not act,” Ravi Mohan said emotionally. He added that he would return to films only after the ongoing cyberbullying and public attacks surrounding his personal life came to an end.

The actor also addressed Keneeshaa Francis directly for the first time amid months of rumours linking the two. “You have sent Keneeshaa away… I wish her a good life,” he said during the press conference.

The press meet came shortly after Aarti Ravi shared a strongly worded Instagram note warning people not to mistake her “dignified silence” for weakness. She also stated that she would speak out with “the truth” if necessary to protect her children and dignity.

Following Ravi Mohan’s remarks, actor Khushbu Sundar reacted to Aarti’s post and described her as a “lioness with her cubs.” Khushbu later shared a cryptic message on X, sparking widespread speculation online that it may have been directed at Ravi Mohan’s allegations.

The dispute between Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi first became public in September 2024 after the actor announced his decision to separate from her. Around the same time, Ravi and Keneeshaa made a public appearance together at a producer’s family wedding, fuelling rumours about the nature of their relationship.

In an earlier interview with DT Next, Keneeshaa Francis denied rumours of an affair with Ravi Mohan and alleged that the actor had faced emotional struggles within his marriage. She clarified that she initially met Ravi in a professional capacity as his therapist before later supporting him as a friend.

Making serious allegations against Aarti and her family, Keneeshaa claimed that Ravi Mohan had endured immense emotional pain and said she could present evidence in court if required.

Meanwhile, amid the escalating controversy, Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi have now removed their statements regarding their marital dispute from social media after the High Court reportedly directed both sides to refrain from posting defamatory content against each other.

For the unversed, Ravi Mohan had announced his separation from Aarti in 2024 after 15 years of marriage, and reports suggest that the former couple has been involved in legal proceedings since 2025.
