After the historic change of power in the politics of Tamil Nadu, the war of words in the political circles has now reached the seventh level. The opposition has launched sharp attacks on the coalition government of actor-turned-politician and new Chief Minister of the state Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay). Senior DMK leader and Tiruchendur MLA Anita Radhakrishnan has given a statement on Sunday, which has created a stir in the politics of the entire state.

Radhakrishnan made a big and shocking claim and said that this new government led by Vijay will not be able to last even for six months. He said with full confidence that DMK chief M.K., who suffered a crushing defeat in the assembly elections held in April, Stalin will very soon return to power as Chief Minister.

DMK MLA gave open challenge to the leader of the ruling party

Radhakrishnan’s anger was at its peak during a party program organized in southern Tamil Nadu. He openly challenged Aadhav Arjuna, a senior leader of the ruling party TVK and who won the election from Villivakkam seat.

Taking a direct aim at the TVK leader, Anita Radhakrishnan said that this government will survive only for four more months. He challenged and said that if the person named Aadhav Arjuna has even a little courage, he should resign from his MLA post. I also leave my seat. Come and try to contest one-on-one elections against me in Tiruchendur. This is our area, we have the courage to defeat anyone here. Let us tell you that Tiruchendur seat has been an impenetrable fort of Radhakrishnan for the last 25 years. He won from this seat for the first time in 2001 on AIADMK ticket, after which he has been continuously winning from this seat on DMK ticket since 2009.

Radhakrishnan angry over Stalin’s defeat, calls voters ‘rejected’

Addressing party workers, Radhakrishnan strongly defended former Chief Minister MK Stalin. It is noteworthy that in this election, Stalin had lost the election from his traditional and considered safest Kolathur seat. Stalin was succeeded by a rebel former DMK leader, V.S. He was defeated by Babu, who at the last moment joined Vijay’s party TVK and gave a crushing defeat to his former boss.

Venting his anger, Radhakrishnan took a jibe at the voters of Kolathur and even called them ‘nasty’. He said that Stalin had made Kolathur region like Singapore in terms of development, yet the people there defeated him. We want our leader Stalin to contest from Trichy next time. He claimed that our ‘Thalaivar’ is the next Chief Minister of the state and within the next four or six months he will again occupy the Chief Minister’s chair.

The biggest political upset in the history of Tamil Nadu

This sharp rhetoric going on between the leaders clearly explains the growing bitterness and enmity between TVK and DMK in Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you that this election victory of Tamil cinema superstar Vijay is being considered as the biggest political upheaval in the history of Tamil Nadu in the last several decades.

Vijay’s party TVK alone won a bumper victory in 108 out of total 234 assembly seats in the state, which was just 10 seats short of the magic figure of absolute majority. With this historic victory, Vijay ended the decades-old bipolar political dominance of DMK and AIADMK, which had been ruling the state alternately for the last 62 years.

This shortfall of 10 seats required for majority was bridged after a week-long political drama when Congress, two left parties and VCK extended their support to Vijay. Interestingly, all these parties were considered the most reliable and strong allies of DMK just before this election. After crossing the majority mark, Vijay completed his journey from filmy journey to political peak by taking oath as the Chief Minister and also won the trust vote in the Assembly by a huge margin of 144 versus 22 votes.
