RRB Technician Recruitment 2026: Indian Railways has announced a massive recruitment drive for Technician posts. Candidates interested in these positions can apply by visiting the official website.

The recruitment process for technical positions within Indian Railways has officially commenced. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a Centralized Employment Notification for 6,565 vacancies across the categories of Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III.

Under this recruitment drive, out of the total 6,565 vacancies, 323 posts have been allocated for Technician Grade I Signal, while 6,242 posts are designated for Technician Grade III. For the Technician Grade I Signal position, a B.Sc. degree or a Diploma is mandatory; whereas for Technician Grade III, passing the 10th standard examination along with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification is required.

Regarding the age limit—calculated as of July 1, 2026—the prescribed age range is 18 to 33 years for Grade I Signal posts and 18 to 30 years for Grade III posts. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation in accordance with government regulations. Technician Grade I Signal appointees will receive an initial salary of ₹29,200 under Level 5, while Grade III appointees will be provided an initial salary of ₹19,900 under Level 2.

The application fee has been set at ₹500 for candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories, while a fee of ₹250 has been prescribed for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. The application fee must be paid exclusively through online modes.

The selection process will be completed in three stages. The first stage will consist of a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates who successfully clear this test will subsequently be called for document verification and a medical examination.

Indian Railways has advised candidates to cross-verify the details provided in their Aadhaar cards with the information listed on their 10th-grade certificates prior to applying, as applications containing discrepancies or incorrect information are liable to be rejected.
