The Indian Railways has initiated a significant recruitment campaign for Technician roles, inviting applications from interested candidates through its official portal.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a Centralized Employment Notification detailing 6,565 job openings for Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III positions.

Among the total vacancies, 323 are allocated for Technician Grade I Signal, while the majority, 6,242, are for Technician Grade III. Candidates applying for Technician Grade I Signal must possess either a B.Sc. degree or a Diploma, whereas those for Technician Grade III need to have completed the 10th grade and hold an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification.

As for the age criteria, effective from July 1, 2026, candidates must be between 18 to 33 years for Grade I Signal roles and 18 to 30 years for Grade III roles. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories as per government norms.

Newly appointed Technician Grade I Signal personnel will receive a starting salary of ₹29,200 at Level 5, while Grade III appointees will earn ₹19,900 at Level 2.

The application fee is set at ₹500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates will pay ₹250. Payments must be made online.

The selection process consists of three phases, beginning with a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates who pass this stage will then undergo document verification and a medical examination.

Candidates are advised to ensure that the details on their Aadhaar cards match those on their 10th-grade certificates before submitting their applications, as discrepancies may lead to rejection.
