Arsenal expected to part ways with ten senior players following the Champions League final

It has been a remarkable campaign for Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal squad, with the Champions League final still on the horizon — yet several members of the team could be preparing to move on once the season concludes.

On Sunday, Arsenal will be officially handed the Premier League trophy at Selhurst Park after their away fixture against Crystal Palace, before turning their focus to the Champions League final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

However, amid all the celebrations — which Arteta and his players hope will culminate in a double triumph — some individuals within the Arsenal camp may soon have to consider their futures at the club.

Here is FourFourTwo’s assessment of the ten Arsenal players who could be heading for the exit this summer as the club aims to build a squad strong enough to defend their Premier League title next season.

Christian Norgaard appears to be one of the most likely departures after featuring in only 19 matches since joining from Brentford last summer — with just six of those appearances coming in the Premier League.

The Danish midfielder is among four players whose contracts expire next summer. That situation might prompt Arsenal to sell now rather than risk losing them on free transfers, and the remaining three in this group are all attacking players.

Gabriel Jesus has endured a succession of injuries over the past two seasons, making it difficult to envision Arsenal offering him a contract extension.

Gabriel Martinelli has seen his influence wane as the campaign progressed, while fellow winger Leandro Trossard has managed to maintain a more consistent role. Nonetheless, Trossard turns 32 later this year, and with reports suggesting Arsenal are targeting a new left winger, his long-term future remains uncertain.

Two academy products could also be moved on to help strengthen Arsenal’s balance sheet ahead of the introduction of the new squad cost ratio rules.

Myles Lewis-Skelly has struggled to secure a regular spot in Arteta’s starting line-up this term after an impressive breakthrough last season.

Meanwhile, teenager Ethan Nwaneri was loaned to Marseille halfway through the campaign, playing only a limited part for Arsenal before his departure.

If Arteta does not anticipate either of them breaking into the first team next year, the club may choose to sell while their market value remains high rather than opt for another loan spell or a season of limited development.

Kepa Arrizabalaga only arrived at the Emirates Stadium last summer, but has found opportunities scarce behind the outstanding David Raya and may look for a move to regain regular first-team football.

Ben White has increasingly been viewed as a rotational option under Arteta and is reportedly attracting interest from Everton ahead of the transfer window.

Also unlikely to be part of the Premier League title festivities on Sunday are Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira. Both players, in their mid-20s, have spent the season out on loan — Nelson with Brentford and Vieira with Hamburg. Although their contracts run until 2027, those loan spells appear to have been designed to generate permanent transfer interest from other clubs.
