IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders: This season of IPL is currently proving to be full of ups and downs for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The team had to wait a long time for its first win of the season. But KKR made a strong comeback in the entire phase and is still in the race for the playoffs. But now she is stuck in a big tension before her last league match. In this do-or-die match, they may have to take the field without their star player, who is the highest run-scorer for the team this season.

KKR's star player out of the next match!

Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a setback during the match played against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on May 20, which could cost them dearly in the last league match. Actually, young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi got injured during the match. Varun Chakraborty got his finger injured while trying to catch the ball by taking a long jump. In his place on the field, Tejashwi Singh Dahiya was brought in as a concussion substitute, who took the responsibility of both wicketkeeping and batting. After the match, former Australian star Shane Watson told that Angkrish also had pain in his neck. Due to which concussion substitute was used.

According to the new ICC rules that came into effect in June 2025, in case of concussion or head injury, the player has to stay away from any cricket activity for at least 7 days. This rule also applies in IPL. In such a situation, the last league match of Kolkata Knight Riders is against Delhi Capitals on 24th May. Due to which Angkrish Raghuvanshi may be out of this match.

Strong performance by Angkrish Raghuvanshi

If Angkrish Raghuvanshi does not become a part of this match, then it will be a big loss for the team, because he is the highest run-scorer of KKR this season. He has shown excellent form as a young batsman and has strengthened the team's batting. He has scored 422 runs in 13 matches at an average of 42.20, which includes 5 half-centuries.
