After several teasers, HMD Vibe 2 5G was launched in India on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as a successor to last year’s HMD Vibe 5G. It is a basic smartphone designed for regular usage and at a pocket-friendly price. HMD is known to offer budget-friendly smartphones in India, and the latest HMD Vibe 2 5G is an accurate representation of that strategy.
The new HMD smartphone features a 6.7-inch display with a large 6000 mAh battery. It further has a 120 Hz refresh rate and runs on an octa-core chipset. It comes in three colorways, and it is equipped with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of built-in storage. More pocket-friendly P64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
According to HMD’s official website, the smartphone provides a premium feel with powerful performance. It also provides clean Android OS6.7-inch years of security updates² and gives the users a stunning design at a reasonable price.

Apart from these key features and specifications, the HMD Vibe 2 5G comes in a jelly case with a charger (USB Type-C Cable), along with a SIM pin and a screen protector. It further comes in three colors, namely, Nordic Blue, Peach Pink, and Cosmic Lavender. Moreover, the device has a height of 168 mm, with a weight of 210 g. Its width is approximately 77.7 mm, and its depth is 8.6 mm.
The heavy-duty 6000 mAh battery, combined with Android 16 system optimizations, provides excellent longevity on a single charge. The 120Hz display ensures smooth navigation and scrolling. The 50MP primary sensor captures crisp, high-resolution pictures and is backed by AI processing.
It is priced at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB model, and the 4GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 11,999, according to fonearena.
It will be available from Flipkart starting from May 26 at 12 noon, with launch offers such as Rs. 1500 instant discount with select bank cards or Rs. 1500 off on UPI transaction and up to 3 months no cost EMI.

For many smartphone users, the biggest concerns are usually battery life, reliable performance, and long-term usability. The HMD Vibe 2 5G comes under the ultra-affordable segment in the smartphone market, prioritizing a clean software experience, long battery life, and high refresh rate viewing over raw processing power. It competes directly with budget smartphones from brands such as Redmi, Realme, and Motorola, which continue releasing affordable 5G devices at increasingly aggressive prices. Thus, the HMD Vibe 2 5G reflects how smartphones are becoming more accessible across different price segments, instead of being limited to expensive flagship devices.
