Bayern Munich have been handed a significant setback just days before the German Cup final.

The Bavarian side are set to meet VfB Stuttgart in the title clash this Saturday at 8 p.m., but they will have to manage without their veteran goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer.

The German international has not been named in the squad for the final. As reported by Sky Sports, Neuer is still struggling with a calf injury and prefers not to risk aggravating it ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

It is worth noting that the experienced shot-stopper recently reversed his decision to retire from international football in order to reclaim his spot as Germany’s No.1 at the 2026 World Cup.
