Midnight collision between lorry and Cruiser claims five lives in Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi: A devastating road accident near Ladlapur in Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district claimed the lives of five people belonging to the same family late on Friday, May 22, night.

The victims died on the spot after the Cruiser vehicle in which they were travelling collided head-on with a speeding lorry on the national highway.

Police said the deceased were natives of Ingalagi village in Chittapur taluk. The family members had reportedly gone to Yadgir for personal work and were returning home after finishing their engagements. During the return journey, tragedy struck when a lorry moving at high speed crashed into their vehicle near Ladlapur.

The collision was extremely severe, leaving the Cruiser vehicle completely mangled. The victims sustained critical injuries and succumbed on the spot due to excessive blood loss before any medical help could arrive.

The deceased have been identified as Tolusab Kashwar (27), Hussein Shah (48), Maiboob Ali (45), Rasool Bee (42), and Fatima Ali (38). Their sudden deaths have left family members and residents of Ingalagi village in deep shock.

After receiving information about the incident, senior police officers visited the accident site during the night and supervised rescue and recovery operations. The bodies trapped inside the damaged vehicle were pulled out with difficulty and later shifted for legal formalities and postmortem procedures.

Police officials inspected the accident spot and gathered preliminary details regarding the collision. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

The tragic incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and increasing accidents on highways during late-night hours.
