In her resignation letter, Gabbard expressed gratitude to President Trump for the confidence he placed in her and for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence over the past 18 months.

Explaining her decision, she said her husband, Abraham, was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer and is expected to face significant challenges in the months ahead, prompting her to step away from public service to support him during this difficult period.
