Friends, the scorching heat in India has disrupted people’s lives, especially in North India where the temperature in many states has crossed 45 degrees, due to which people have to depend heavily on air conditioners (AC) to get relief. Although using AC provides comfort, using it incorrectly can increase the electricity bill significantly. But with some smart methods you can prevent this from happening, let us know how-

Set AC temperature to 24 degrees

Many people reduce the temperature of the AC to 16 or 18 degrees, thinking that this will cool the room quickly. But, experts recommend maintaining the temperature at 24 degrees for best performance. This setting provides comfortable cooling while consuming less power. Maintaining balanced temperature not only saves electricity but also improves the efficiency of the AC.

Use ceiling fan along with AC

Running a ceiling fan along with the AC spreads cool air more effectively throughout the room. The result is that the room cools down quickly and the AC does not have to work as hard. Running a fan along with the AC can actually help reduce power consumption,

It is also very important to regularly clean the AC filter. Dirty filters restrict airflow, reduce cooling efficiency, and force the AC to use more power.

Keep the room cool and prevent heat from coming in

When hot air continuously flows into the room, the AC has to work harder to maintain the desired temperature. Therefore, when the AC is running, doors and windows should be kept closed. If the room is already a little cold, then the AC cools it quickly and also consumes less electricity. This simple habit can make a big difference even in the hottest months of summer.

Use “Dry Mode” in humid weather

During the monsoon season, especially in the months of June and July, humidity levels in the air increase significantly in many areas. In such situations, “Dry Mode” of AC proves to be very useful. This mode removes excess moisture from the air, making the room feel cooler and more comfortable, without running the AC at its full cooling capacity.

Avoid switching off Inverter ACs again and again

If you use Inverter AC, avoid turning it on and off again and again. Inverter ACs are specifically designed to maintain a consistent room temperature. Frequent switching on and off increases the pressure on the machine and can also lead to higher power consumption.
