First Time Flight Travel Guide: The excitement of sitting in a flight for the first time is different. Only after the ticket is booked, many questions start arising in the mind. Along with the excitement, there is also a little fear and confusion. What to do after getting out of the cab? Where to get boarding pass? What has to be taken out during security check? How will the bag go inside? If similar questions are floating in your mind, then do not panic. In this article, we are going to tell you a step-by-step easy process from entering the airport to sitting on the flight seat, so that your first air journey is completely tension-free and wonderful.

Web Check-In
Web check-in opens 48 hours before flight departure. Go to the airline's app or website, choose your seat and download the digital boarding pass. This will avoid long lines at the airport.
Timing
Reach the airport at least 2 to 2.5 hours before for domestic flights and at least 3 to 4 hours before for international flights.
Documents
Keep a soft copy (PDF) of the ticket in your phone and keep a valid original ID proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID or Passport) ready with you.
1.Entry and ID verification at the gate
CISF soldiers stand at the entry gate of the airport. There you will have to show the flight ticket and original ID proof in your phone. You will get entry inside only after the match. This process may take 2-5 minutes.
2.Check-in Counter and Baggage Drop
Once inside, find the counter of your airline (IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet or others). If you have a large suitcase (check-in baggage), deposit it here. The counter staff will weigh it, put a tag on it and send it to the flight cabin. From here you will also get your physical boarding pass. If you have already done web check-in and have only hand bag, you can proceed directly to the next step. This process may take 15-30 minutes.
3.Security Check
This is the most important step. Here you have to keep your hand bag or backpack in a tray. Keep in mind, remove your laptop, tablet, power bank, charger and mobile from the bag and keep them in a separate tray. Also put the keys, coin, wallet and belt present in the pocket in the tray. After this your personal checking (frisking) will take place. After getting security clearance, put all your belongings back in the bag. This may take 15-20 minutes.
4.Find the boarding gate and relax
After passing the security check, check the gate number written on your boarding pass on the screen and proceed towards that gate. Boarding opens about 45 minutes before the flight takes off. Until then, you can sit in the waiting area or explore the duty-free shops.
5.Final Boarding
When the airline staff makes the announcement at your gate, get in line. They will scan your boarding pass. After this you will reach the flight through aerobridge or bus. Inside the flight, show your pass to the air hostess, find your seat number, keep the handbag in the overhead bin, fasten your seat belt and enjoy your journey.
