Lucknow. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while expressing his gratitude to the people of the state, said that for the first time, the people have given the mayor’s seat to BJP in all the 17 municipal corporations. BJP boards were formed in all municipal corporations. The result was that the Municipal Corporation established some standards in 3 years and gave a model of development and cleanliness. It also took us time to fill the pits of sins of previous governments and clean up the garbage of corruption. The money spent on development belongs to the public. The Chief Minister or the Minister is not giving it, but is only making proper planning of it. Public money will be spent only in public interest. This is the vision and inspiration of PM Modi ji.
On Tuesday, on completion of three years of the tenure of the Mayor in the Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister gave the gift of development to the people of Lucknow. In the program organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, CM laid the foundation stone/inaugurated 342 projects worth Rs 413 crore and released a booklet to Swachh-Sundar-Samarth Lucknow. During this period a short film was also shown. The CM congratulated the mayors of all 17 municipal corporations, 200 municipal councils, chairmen of 545 nagar panchayats and about 14,000 councilors on the completion of their three-year term.
Cleanliness is the responsibility of every citizen
CM Yogi said that Lucknow Municipal Corporation got third place in the country in cleanliness ranking, it has to be brought to the first place. This is not the responsibility of only the mayor, councilor or sanitation worker, but it is the responsibility of every citizen. Throw household garbage in the dustbin only, separate wet and dry garbage. Do not use single use plastic. Do not throw garbage in drains and do not damage government properties. People say that Lucknow is very clean, this is what happens when the functioning of the government is clean. When the minister, mayor, councilor, entire executive, officers, supervisors and sanitation workers all come together, cleanliness is visible. The CM took a dig at those who stole flower pots by coming in a car worth Rs 2.5 crore and said that CCTV cameras are installed at all places. If you had bought a pot worth Rs 45, respect would have been maintained and the city would have looked beautiful.
CM gave example of national inspiration place
CM Yogi gave the example of Rashtra Prerna Sthal and said that the place where garbage was dumped for 30 years is now a great place. Statues of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee were installed there. CM mentioned the personality and contribution of the three great men to the nation. He said that today Lucknow is not only a place of national inspiration but also has all kinds of public facilities including green corridor and metro.
Poor, youth, women and farmers were kept at the center
CM said that before 2017, houses for the poor were not sanctioned in the SP government. His plans were not for the poor and the youth. Without looking at face, caste, region, creed or religion, we worked keeping the four castes of the country (poor, youth, women and farmers) at the center. Provided housing to more than 65 lakh poor in urban-rural areas. Earlier governments thought about the family, that is why they failed. SP goons were the biggest threat to women’s safety. In the SP government, the benefits of government schemes were available to selected families, whereas Modi ji considered the countrymen, the double engine government considered 25 crore people of the state and the Municipal Corporation considered the entire area as its family.
Answer given to those doing negative politics
Describing Lucknow as the largest metropolis and municipal corporation of the state, the CM said that the bigger the responsibility, the bigger will be the challenges, but Lucknow and the state are facing the challenges very well. Responding to those doing negative politics and pointing fingers at positive initiatives, the CM said that under the leadership of Municipal Corporation in three years, State in 9 years and PM Modi in 12 years, development programs were expanded with a new paradigm. The BJP government has done something new at the municipal, state and national levels. Our cities are clean, beautiful and safe in terms of ‘ease of living’. Lucknow Municipal Corporation had issued bonds worth more than Rs 200 crore last year, whereas before 2017 the value of the bonds here was not even Rs 25 crore.
An attempt to put the country in the dock is an unhealthy mentality.
CM Yogi said that the energy crisis has become global. The supply line has been disrupted due to the US-Iran war. Oil prices are skyrocketing in many areas of the world. In America, which has its own energy sector, the prices of petroleum products have more than doubled. Inflation is at its peak, but it has been continuously controlled in India under the leadership of PM Modi. If the prices of petroleum products will increase in the world, if the supply chain is disrupted then it will have an impact here too, but instead of standing with the country in times of crisis, trying to put the country in the dock is synonymous with an unhealthy mentality.
Consume electricity only as per need
CM Yogi said that due to sudden increase in heat, all the thermal power plants suddenly took shutdown. Production was affected. Till 2017, the peak power supply in UP was 15-16 thousand MW, today it has reached 32-33 thousand MW. At that time the production was 6 thousand MW, whereas today 13 thousand MW of electricity is being produced. The production of renewable energy has increased by about 10 thousand MW, but our requirement is 33-35 thousand MW. In view of the LPG crisis, people are also using electric heaters for cooking. The country’s problem is everyone’s problem. Don’t get misled by anyone. Consume only as much electricity as required.

CM said that those spreading rumors are not well-wishers of the country. When he was in power, he did not work in the interest of the common people. Robbery was committed on the rights of women, farmers, poor and youth. CM counted the number of development schemes, beneficiaries, government jobs and youth getting employment in the last 9 years. He said that why SP, BSP and Congress did not do this work, because their agenda was only family and nepotism. We worked for everyone’s interests, that is why we are successful and they fail.
Don’t believe the opposition’s narrative, double engine government will find solution to every problem.
CM said that we should discharge our civic responsibilities, face challenges and not accept the narrative of the opposition. The same people are pointing fingers at the energy crisis, in whose time people used to dry clothes on electric wires. There was no electricity during the time of SP, now full electricity is being provided. The department is working. I have also taken a review meeting. Every citizen should stand with the Power Corporation and cooperate in facing the crisis. Criticism will not help, instead give support. Double engine government will find solution to every problem.
Municipal Corporation is the platform to solve civil problems
CM said that Municipal Corporation is a platform to solve the problems of citizens. A grand building of the Municipal Corporation is being constructed after 100 years. A model cowshed is being built, where examples of cow conservation, CNG production, compost, natural farming and converting every waste into wealth will also be presented. The Integrated Command and Control Center of the Municipal Corporation is working better. This is a good platform to see traffic management, cleanliness and development activities. In the coming times, CM Grid Scheme will be a model in the country. Earlier, urban areas used to get flooded in just one hour of rain, but the Municipal Corporation and the Urban Development Department have made an excellent plan to solve the problem of stormwater. A convention center for 10 thousand people has been approved in Lucknow, its tender has been done.
CM seeks everyone’s support for development model
CM said that a lot of models are going to stand. To take it to the heights of success, there should be contribution from public representatives and people of Lucknow. If instead of becoming a barrier to development plans, we will take them to new heights with positive support, the future generation will thank them. The better the extension facilities in the urban bodies, the faster the state will move towards achieving one trillion dollar economy.
