Over nine remarkable years at Anfield, Andy Robertson has firmly cemented his place as one of Liverpool’s finest full-backs in history.

The Scottish defender has played a key role in Liverpool’s success, helping the club secure two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Champions League trophy since his transfer from Hull City in the summer of 2017.

Last month, the 32-year-old confirmed that he would be departing the club once his contract ends at the close of the season, sparking immediate speculation regarding his next destination.

The leading contenders for the Scotland captain’s signature this summer appear to be Tottenham Hotspur, who are reportedly set to revive their long-standing interest after failing to secure his services during the January transfer window.

However, any potential move for Robertson is believed to hinge on Tottenham maintaining their Premier League status. Yet, one former Liverpool player has expressed doubts over the possible transfer.

“My question is, why Tottenham?” Bolo Zenden told BOYLE Sports, who are known for providing the latest Champions League betting updates.

“Is it Andy Robertson himself who released that news? Or is it just a rumour that’s been circulating? If Tottenham were to go down, I can’t see Robertson making that move.”

Zenden further explained, “That’s something only Robertson can answer. What would be his preference, and what would be his dream move?”

He continued, “At 32, you still have a few good years left in you, but it’s crucial to make the right decision — to join a club where you feel valued and where you can continue performing at your best.”

Robertson is also set to lead Scotland at this summer’s World Cup. In the past, there have been rumours suggesting that the former Queen’s Park and Dundee United player could make an emotional return to Celtic — the club where he began his football journey and the team he supported as a child.

“I also read something about Celtic being an option, and that would indeed be a special move,” Zenden added.

“Ultimately, it depends on his family situation and personal preferences — only he can decide that. But of course, it would be great to see Robertson continue competing at a high level somewhere in Europe.”
