New Siri As ChatGPT: Apple is about to give its biggest upgrade ever to its virtual assistant Siri. Recently leaked reports suggest that the company may introduce the new AI-powered Siri at the WWDC 2026 event starting from June 8. It is being claimed that it will not just be a voice assistant but will work completely like an AI chatbot like ChatGPT. There is also a claim in the reports that Apple has redesigned the entire interface and way of working of Siri. The special thing about which is its partnership with Google which adds to the power of Gemini AI model.
In the leaked information, it is being said that the new Siri can now be integrated into the Dynamic Island of the iPhone. In which users will be able to activate it by saying Hey Siri or pressing the power button. Apart from this, Apple can also bring a new gesture. In which swiping down from the top center of the screen will open Siri’s new Search & Ask interface. Not only this, this interface is being made completely AI-powered. Which will help users in doing things like web search, sending messages, making notes, setting calendar appointments and app shortcuts easily.
The new Siri is going to work not only through text but also through photos, documents and voice commands. According to the reports that have surfaced, Apple can also add support for third-party AI services like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. The new upcoming special feature will be its Context Awareness. Which simply means that Siri will not only answer the question but will also be able to explain the information shown on the screen.
It is seen that in the race of AI, Apple is currently lagging far behind companies like Google, Microsoft and Samsung. Where other companies are continuously launching new AI features. At the same time, Apple has not yet been able to fully roll out many of the features announced in 2024. In such a situation, the new Siri can prove to be very important for Apple. If this upgrade is successful then the company can make a strong comeback in the AI market but if users do not like the experience then Apple may have to face heavy criticism.
