This festival is known as Chikhal Kalo, which in Konkani language means 'playing in the mud'. This tradition has been going on for almost four centuries, in which even adults and children play in the mud after applying oil on the entire body. Actually, this festival is celebrated to remember the childhood pastimes of Lord Krishna, in which not only the local people but also the tourists participate. In this way it becomes not just a religious but a cultural festival. This festival will be held from 28th to 30th June at Devki Krishna Temple in Marcel village, Goa.

Dree Festival (Arunachal Pradesh)

You can attend the Dri Festival during monsoon, which is the biggest agricultural festival of the Apatani tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. Celebrating this festival amidst beautiful valleys will be lifetime memorable for you. This festival is celebrated on 5th July which lasts for three days. It includes traditional dances, prayers, community feasts, worship of deities and many traditional games like archery and wrestling. In this, everyone from children to artists are seen wearing traditional clothes.

Satpura Monsoon Festival (Gujarat)

During monsoon, Satpura Monsoon Festival (Saputara Monsoon Mahotsav or Megh Malhar) is celebrated in the hill station of Saputara in Gujarat. This is a cultural and tourism festival held every year during the rainy season. Which celebrates from July to August or sometimes even in September. In this, some folk artists from different states are involved who present dance, Shastri music and tribal dance is also seen.
