Trouble Begins with Technical Glitches

The CUET UG 2026 examination was being conducted at numerous centers nationwide; however, technical malfunctions prevented the exam from starting on time at several locations. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS iON)—the agency responsible for conducting the exam—stated that the delays were caused by technical issues within the system, which were subsequently resolved.

Resentment Among Students and Parents

At several test centers, students reported having to wait for extended periods and noted a lack of basic amenities inside the examination halls. Complaints regarding the unavailability of drinking water and functional fans also surfaced at multiple locations. Consequently, frustration and resentment grew among the students and their parents.


Rumors Worsen the Situation

Meanwhile, rumors began to spread in certain areas that the CUET UG 2026 examination had been cancelled. Following these reports, crowds gathered outside several test centers, creating a tense atmosphere. Students and parents raised questions regarding the management’s competence and demanded immediate answers.

NTA’s Statement and Situation Control

The examination conducting body, the National Testing Agency (NTA), clarified that students whose exams started late would be allotted the full stipulated time to ensure that no candidate faces any injustice. Furthermore, it was stated that rumors regarding the cancellation of the examination are false, and the examination process is proceeding normally.

Changes in Examination Timings

In light of delays at certain centers, adjustments were also made to the examination schedule. For the afternoon shift, entry commenced at 2:30 PM, and the examination—originally scheduled for 3:00 PM—was rescheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
