Manchester United are entering the upcoming summer transfer window in an exceptionally strong position after confirming their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Recently, reports surfaced suggesting that United could theoretically “spend close to £300 million” during the window — a figure that would surpass the club’s current transfer record of about £215 million.

Despite missing out on European football last year, INEOS had already invested nearly £200 million to overhaul the attacking department. A new report now indicates that the club’s leadership aims to be even more aggressive in their recruitment this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United’s transfer ambitions have “grown much bigger” following their qualification for Europe’s most prestigious competition.

The report claims that United are now ready to completely revitalise their forward line, with INEOS eager to inject additional attacking strength into Michael Carrick’s squad.

The club is reportedly seeking more depth and variety in attacking options around Benjamin Sesko, as Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee is expected to move on after a disappointing campaign.

In this effort, five attacking players are believed to have caught the attention of the Red Devils’ recruitment team.

Among them, Victor Osimhen is said to be “the dream” signing for the club. The former Napoli striker has become a beloved figure in Istanbul after his move to Galatasaray.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international has contributed directly to 76 goals in 75 appearances for Galatasaray, playing a pivotal role in their back-to-back Süper Lig title triumphs since 2024.

The report notes: “He still looks like the kind of forward who could turn United into genuine contenders for the Premier League title. He provides pace, power, goals, and an imposing presence — exactly the kind of No.9 that Old Trafford adores.”

Bringing Osimhen to Manchester would be a “transformative” move for the club. Galatasaray acquired him for a record Turkish transfer fee of €75 million (£65 million), meaning United would have to make a significant financial commitment to secure his signature.

Other names linked with United include Jean-Philippe Mateta, Dušan Vlahović, and Robert Lewandowski — all of whom could be more feasible targets from a financial standpoint.

In addition, Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is being considered as a long-term prospect, though the Cherries are reportedly keen to extend the French forward’s contract.
