World No Tobacco Day: Today the whole world is celebrating World No Tobacco Day. This day gives a message to make people aware about the serious health risks caused by tobacco consumption and to stay away from this addiction.

According to the GloboCan 2022 report of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, about 14.13 lakh new cases of cancer were recorded in India in the year 2022, while about 9.16 lakh people died. Among these, tobacco is considered a major cause.
Especially the cases of oral cancer are continuously increasing. According to the report, 1,43,759 new cases were reported in India in 2022, in which about 79,979 people died. Apart from this, tobacco has also emerged as a major cause of lung, food pipe, throat and other types of cancer.
According to experts, tobacco consumption can cause symptoms like less opening of the mouth, frequent ulcers, change in voice, persistent cough and weight loss without any reason. It is very important to recognize these signs in time.
The report also shows that passive smoking i.e. coming in contact with the smoke of others can be equally dangerous. Every year millions of people in the world are losing their lives due to tobacco diseases.
Health experts say that staying away from tobacco is the key to a safe life and awareness is the most important step to prevent this addiction.
