Global Day Of Parents 2026: Global Day of Parents is celebrated every year on 1 June. This day was announced by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. The purpose behind the global day was to honor parents around the world. This is a day to celebrate the precious relationship between children and parents.
Parents have special importance in life. From the time a child is born, he needs parents at every step of his life. Even his initial education comes from his parents, who help him to move forward throughout his life.
This day started in 1994. This was the time when the society gradually started becoming self-centric, people started running away from their responsibilities towards their parents. Then US President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional resolution to celebrate Parents’ Day to promote family commitment and parental responsibility. The idea was supported by the Unification Church, Senator Trent Lott, and the bill was introduced in the Senate. Its official announcement was made in the UN General Assembly on 1 June 2012.
Like every year, this year too a special theme has been given for ‘Global Day of Parents’ which is – ‘Together for Parents’. Family awareness is very important to be aware of the mental and physical well-being of yourself and your family. Keep an eye on your mental and physical health as much as possible and discuss this topic with your family members. Not only this, always be ready to help each other in difficult times.
Parents have always made sacrifices for their children and despite facing many problems, they do not let any harm come to their children. A family atmosphere is achieved only because of the parents. In such a situation, it is important that we respect our parents, understand them and help them in making their life easier. Make them realize how much importance they hold in your life. Global Parents Day makes us understand the importance of parents as a primary responsibility in nurturing and protecting children along with the family. Parents are no less than God for children. Today’s special day is a special opportunity to appreciate their sacrifice, renunciation and penance.
