CBSE Re-evaluation 2026: Following the declaration of the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2026 results, lakhs of students are anxious regarding their marks. Many students believe that they did not receive marks commensurate with their expectations; consequently, they wish to have their answer sheets re-examined. It is for this reason that a significant number of students have applied to access scanned copies of their answer sheets and to seek verification of their marks.
The Board had announced that the re-evaluation and verification process would commence on June 1st; however, throughout the day, the CBSE portal remained in 'maintenance mode.' This situation heightened the anxiety among students and parents. Amidst this, CBSE has clarified that the portal will be launched shortly and that students should pay no heed to any rumors circulating in this regard.
What Did CBSE Say?
In a statement issued on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), CBSE informed that the verification and re-evaluation portal would go live very soon. The Board added that an official announcement regarding this would also be released shortly. According to the Board, final technical tasks and preparations related to the payment gateway are currently being undertaken on the portal. Once these processes are completed, the application window will be opened for students.
Why the Delay?
According to available information, CBSE aims to avoid any technical glitches this time around. Over the past few days, lakhs of students have utilized services related to answer sheets, placing a significant load on the portal. The Board states that, prior to initiating the application process, it wishes to ensure that the website functions smoothly and that students do not encounter any difficulties regarding payments or the submission of applications. It is for this precise reason that final technical tests are currently being conducted. Also Read: CBSE Admits to Cyber Attack on OnMark Portal; Issues This Update
Who Can Apply for Re-evaluation?
Students who are dissatisfied with their marks may first download their scanned answer sheets. Subsequently, they can verify whether all answers have been evaluated and if the marks have been totaled correctly. If any answer appears to be unexamined, or if any error is detected in the marks awarded, students may apply for verification and re-evaluation. However, CBSE has clarified that following re-evaluation, marks may either increase, decrease, or remain unchanged. The marks issued after re-evaluation shall be considered final.
