On Wednesday (3 June 2026), the Brazilian national team held another training session as part of their preparations for the upcoming friendly match against Egypt.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti conducted several tactical experiments during the session, focusing on adjustments for Saturday’s (6 June) clash.
The training, held at Columbia Park Training Centre in New Jersey, featured five alterations from the starting lineup that faced Panama in the previous match.
Two of those changes were anticipated, with Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães returning to the starting eleven.
Douglas Santos was selected for the left-back role, while Lucas Paquetá replaced Luiz Henrique in midfield. Up front, Igor Thiago came in for Matheus Cunha.
The lineup tested by Ancelotti included: Alisson; Wesley, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, and Douglas Santos; Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães; Lucas Paquetá, Raphinha, Igor Thiago, and Vini Jr.
Thursday’s (4 June) schedule will include both morning and afternoon training sessions, along with press conferences featuring Wesley and Fabinho.
Brazil’s encounter with Mohamed Salah and his Egyptian teammates is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Brasília time) on Saturday at Huntington Bank Field Stadium in Cleveland.
One of the most talked-about moments from Wednesday’s training was a strong challenge by Casemiro on young striker Endrick. The midfielder brought down the forward but quickly apologised afterward.
The incident sparked mixed reactions among fans on social media, with some defending Casemiro’s intensity and others questioning the harshness of the tackle.
