Manchester United are said to be among several top European clubs closely monitoring Flamengo’s young sensation, Kauã Pavuna.

Since INEOS billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe assumed operational control of Manchester United in September 2024, the club has actively pursued a strategy focused on identifying and nurturing lesser-known young players capable of developing into world-class talents.

United have significantly broadened their scouting and recruitment operations beyond England, extending their reach across continents such as Africa and South America. The club’s objective is clear — to ensure that some of the most promising young footballers in the world find their way into the United academy system.

In recent transfer windows, the Red Devils have secured the signings of prospects like Patrick Dorgu, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi, Diego Leon, and Sekou Kone, among others.

Earlier this week, reports covered by The Peoples Person indicated that United are on the verge of finalising a move for Colombian wonderkid Cristian Orozco, expected to be completed next month.

Following years of criticism for spending massive sums on marquee players who rarely justified their transfer fees after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, United appear to have changed course by prioritising smart, youth-oriented investments.

Journalist João Van Boysen has now revealed that United are showing a strong interest in Pavuna.

Van Boysen wrote on X, “Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all keeping an eye on the diamond Kauã Lucas Pavuna, 15 years old, from Flamengo.”

He further added, “An intense race is already in progress to win the preference of the Brazilian prodigy.”

“European scouts have been observing the youngster since 2025.”

Although Pavuna currently features for Flamengo’s U15 and U16 teams and is still in the early stages of his development, he has already earned widespread praise for his technical gifts and impressive displays on the pitch.

Often described as a traditional number 10, Pavuna is known for his exceptional ball control, creativity, and flair. His ability to manipulate tight spaces and his dribbling prowess distinguish him from most players his age.

He has the vision and confidence to dictate play from midfield and can consistently glide past defenders with skill and precision. Unsurprisingly, his playing style has drawn early comparisons to Brazilian icon Ronaldinho.

While it is far too soon to predict the long-term trajectory of the 15-year-old’s career, the calibre of clubs expressing interest in him strongly suggests that Pavuna is a name to watch in the coming years.
