Deputy Collector of Morena district Arvind Mahor has been arrested on charges of rape on the pretext of marriage. A woman has made these serious allegations against him and on the complaint of the victim, an FIR was registered against Arvind Abhishek at the Civil Lines police station late on Wednesday evening.
The victim has alleged in her complaint that Arvind Mahor won her trust by promising her marriage and established physical relations. The woman alleges that when she asked to get married, the accused went back on his promise.
A case of rape has been registered against Deputy Collector Arvind Mahor posted in Morena district on the complaint of a woman. It is alleged that the officer had a long-term physical relationship with the woman on the pretext of marriage. After receiving the complaint, the police registered the case and arrested the accused Deputy Collector.
The victim told the police in her complaint that Arvind Mahor had started friendship on Facebook. After this, he had physical relations with the woman several times for the last one year with the promise of marriage. When the woman talked about marrying him, the accused refused. In the complaint, the woman has said that she and her entire family were also threatened with death. The victim alleged that the accused continuously tortured her mentally and physically.
On the basis of the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code and started investigation. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the accused officer is being detained and interrogated. Police say that further action will be taken on the basis of the victim’s statement, available evidence and other facts.
Arvind Mahor has been in controversies before also. In September last year, during her posting as Sabalgarh SDM, a woman was accused of indecent behaviour, obscene messages and threats. After this he was suspended on the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Later he was posted as Deputy Collector at Morena headquarters.
