FIFA has officially unveiled the list of songs for the 2026 World Cup, with popular streamer and influencer IShowSpeed emerging as one of the standout names on the roster.

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., had earlier released a football-themed track titled “Champions” ahead of the tournament.

The music video quickly gained massive traction, amassing over 500,000 views within its first two hours and now reaching millions of views across platforms.

In the video, Speed can be seen wearing a Portugal jersey as a tribute to his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, who is set to appear in his sixth World Cup alongside Lionel Messi and Guillermo Ochoa.

Although the song was not initially part of FIFA’s official project, “Champions” went viral and received widespread support from fans around the world.

This surge in popularity led Speed to encourage FIFA to consider the track as one of the tournament’s official anthems.

Online communities also responded positively, praising the song for capturing the electrifying energy of the World Cup with a unique and passionate style distinct from typical tournament productions.

Recently, Speed revealed that his track had officially been included in the 2026 World Cup song list after receiving confirmation from FIFA’s official account during one of his live streams.

In the message, FIFA reportedly stated: “We heard it, we love it. It will be an official song for the 2026 World Cup.”

The news left IShowSpeed elated, as he replayed his song during his personal Twitch live stream to celebrate the announcement.

Along with IShowSpeed’s “Champions,” FIFA has released an extensive list of official songs for the 2026 World Cup featuring a number of global artists.

Other tracks include “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy, “Game Time” by Tyla and Future, and “Goals” performed by LISA, Anitta, and Rema.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino also expressed enthusiasm for the lineup of songs.

“FIFA has brought together an incredibly strong music team that matches the scale of the biggest single sporting event in history,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, as quoted by Consequence.

“From global superstars to emerging voices shaping the future of music, the Official 2026 FIFA World Cup Album showcases artists from different continents, languages, and genres, designed to unite fans worldwide through the power of music and football.”

With this lineup, the 2026 World Cup promises not only to be the grandest football spectacle but also a global music stage featuring some of the world’s most prominent stars.

Controversies Surrounding the 2026 World Cup

Beyond the excitement generated by the official World Cup songs, several controversies have surfaced in the United States ahead of the four-yearly tournament.

One of the main concerns involves visa regulations that could impact several participating nations at the 2026 World Cup.

Additionally, the political relationship between Iran and the United States has drawn attention as the tournament approaches.

Experts believe these circumstances could influence fan attendance and the overall atmosphere of the event in the U.S.

Adding to this, ticket prices for matches in the United States, one of the host nations, have seen a sharp increase.

For example, for the opening match between the United States and Paraguay in Inglewood, California, on June 13, top-tier Category 1 front-row tickets are now priced at 4,105 USD (approximately ₹70 lakh), according to ESPN.

This marks a significant rise compared to the previous rate, where the highest Category 1 tickets were priced at 2,735 USD (around ₹46.7 lakh).

These controversies surrounding the 2026 World Cup were also discussed by Adrian from Spieltag Indonesia during a live podcast session on Tribunnews’ YouTube channel.

“It has already become a drama, both on and off the pitch,” said Adrian from Spieltag Indonesia.

“The United States has many regulations, particularly concerning visas. Moreover, ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup are higher than in previous editions.”

“This situation is quite controversial even before the tournament begins.”

“Fortunately, similar issues have not arisen in Canada and Mexico.”

“Additionally, the participation of Iranian players competing in the United States also draws particular attention,” he added.
