JAMBI – The Chairman of the Jambi City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Kemas Farid Alfarely, affirmed his unwavering support for the Brazil national team in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

His admiration for the team, famously known as the Selecao, began in his childhood when he first discovered his passion for football.

“I’ve loved Brazil since I was a kid. From then until now, it’s always Brazil,” he said.

Farid explained that Brazil has always been synonymous with beautiful football and a constellation of star players who inspire football lovers around the world.

He shared that he grew up during Brazil’s golden generation, which featured legendary names such as Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Kaka, and Cafu. That era, he said, was the reason he fell in love with the five-time world champions.

According to Farid, Brazil’s generation from the late 1990s to the early 2000s was among the best in football history. During that period, Brazil claimed the 2002 World Cup title after finishing as runners-up in 1998.

“The generation of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Cafu – they were truly exceptional. Their style of play was a joy to watch,” he remarked.

Although he remains a supporter of Brazil, Farid expressed his hope that the Indonesia national team will also make it to the final round of this year’s World Cup.

For the 2026 World Cup, he believes Brazil remains one of the strongest contenders for the title. The presence of experienced coach Carlo Ancelotti, he said, could bring a balanced approach between attack and defence.

With a combination of seasoned veterans and talented young players, Farid is confident that Brazil will perform strongly in their quest for the world title.

“I’m sure Brazil can go far, even win the championship,” he concluded.
