Due to pre-monsoon activities, cloudy, rain and thunderstorm conditions will persist in Uttar Pradesh till June 6. From June 7, the weather will change again and the temperature will start increasing. The effect of heat wave may be seen again in the state from next week.
Due to the effect of western disturbance, there is a possibility of isolated rain in both western and eastern divisions on June 4, 2026. During this period, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. On June 5 and 6, its effect will be visible in central and eastern Uttar Pradesh, due to which there are chances of thunderstorms and sporadic drizzle in these areas.
There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky in the capital Lucknow on Thursday and rain with thunderstorms from afternoon to evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 39 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius respectively. The temperature may increase by only one to two degrees Celsius.
Basti was the hottest district on Wednesday (3 June 2026), where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42 degrees Celsius. Whereas the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Najibabad district at 22 degrees Celsius. In about 10 districts the maximum temperature was 40 degrees Celsius or more.
According to the latest daily report (4 June 2026) of the Meteorological Center (IMD), Lucknow, due to the impact of western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh till June 6. During this period, there can be thunder and lightning along with gusty winds at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour. After June 7, there is a possibility of increase in temperature and heat wave at some places in the state. Monsoon is likely to arrive late in Uttar Pradesh this year. Usually monsoon reaches the state between 15th to 20th June, but this time it is likely to reach only between 20th to 25th June or later.
