Google has named its new security feature Fake Call Detection. Its purpose is to identify fake and suspicious calls and alert users in advance. The company says that this feature will help in preventing fraud using techniques like AI Voice Cloning, Deepfake Calls and Caller ID Spoofing.
Let us tell you, this feature will work through Phone by Google app. According to the information, when a user receives a call, the system will complete a digital verification process between the caller and the device receiving the call. If the system does not receive confirmation that the call is indeed from the person whose name appears on the screen, the user will be immediately warned.
According to Google, if a cyber criminal tries to make a call using the identity or number of a known person, a suspicious call alert will appear on the phone screen. This will give the user a chance to be careful and avoid any kind of fraud. The company has also clarified that in this feature, full care has been taken of the privacy and security of the users. For this, end-to-end encryption technology will be used, due to which the information to the call will remain secure.
Google is constantly working on making the Android platform more secure. Even before this, the company has introduced features like Verified Calls. The new Fake Call Detection feature will be available on Android 12 and above versions. However, its full benefit will be available only when both the caller and the call receiver are using the Phone by Google app.
