Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as manager Michael Carrick seeks to strengthen his attacking department ahead of the upcoming season.
Since taking charge of United in January, Carrick has made a significant impact, leading the team into the Champions League qualification zone after a sluggish start under Ruben Amorim.
With European football now on the horizon, the Red Devils are moving swiftly to reinforce their squad in anticipation of what could be a demanding campaign.
The club is already close to finalising a £35 million deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, but attention is also turning to options within the northwest as they aim to inject more creativity into their frontline.
According to reports from the Liverpool Echo, Everton and Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye has emerged as a prominent target on United’s summer shortlist, viewed as an alternative to Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.
United are among several top-tier clubs pursuing Rogers, but with no guarantee of securing his transfer, they have identified Ndiaye as one of their backup choices.
Everton, however, are believed to be reluctant to part ways with the 24-year-old, whose current contract runs until 2029.
It is understood that United are adopting a revamped transfer strategy this summer, placing greater emphasis on signing players with proven Premier League experience, inspired by the recent successes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Ndiaye has been a standout performer under manager David Moyes, having scored 15 goals across two seasons since his £15 million move from Marseille to Merseyside.
This form means Everton could command a substantial profit if they opted to cash in on the Senegalese forward.
Nonetheless, Moyes is said to hold Ndiaye in high regard. Back in April, he remarked that the player is “the last person I would consider selling,” underlining his importance to the squad.
