Healthy Summer Lifestyle: These days, severe heat and heatwave continues in many parts of the country. People are facing health problems due to rising temperature and strong sunlight. In such a situation, the youth need to be especially alert and take care of their health.

The National Health Mission (NHM) has warned the youth to protect themselves from heatwave especially as they can be most affected this summer due to busy routines and outdoor activities. Many important health tips have been given, following which the harm caused by heat can be avoided.

According to NHM, the most important is hydrate yourself Have to keep. While going out, keep a water bottle with you and keep drinking water frequently by taking small sips. Apart from plain water, also consume lemon water, coconut water or fresh fruit juice. Avoid energy drinks as they can further dehydrate the body.

Cover your head and face properly while going out in the sun. Use a cloth scarf, hat or umbrella. To protect your eyes, wear UV protection glasses. Avoid unnecessary outdoor activities like sports, running or long journeys in bright sunlight between 12 noon to 4 pm. If it is necessary to go out, then wear light colored, loose and cotton clothes which can absorb sweat.

According to health experts, youth should start the day with light exercise but limit it to cool morning hours. Get good sleep at night and eat nutritious food which includes high water content like melon, cucumber, watermelon.
