Persib Bandung supporters, popularly known as Bobotoh, have reasons to celebrate.

According to reports, Persib Bandung star and Bobotoh favourite Frans Putros delivered an impressive performance during the FIFA Match Day as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Frans Putros, representing the Iraq national team, managed to frustrate Spain in a thrilling encounter.

The match took place at Estadio Abanca-Riazor, Spain, on Friday, 5 June 2026, early morning Western Indonesia Time.

Putros entered the game in the 62nd minute, replacing Hussein Ali.

During his time on the pitch, the defender recorded one clearance, two recoveries, and engaged in three ground duels.

He also delivered two crossing attempts, completed 11 accurate passes from 13 attempts, and launched one successful long ball.

Thanks in part to Putros’s contribution, Iraq managed to hold Spain to a 1-1 draw.

This result serves as a confidence boost for Putros and his teammates ahead of their World Cup campaign.

The Iraq national team has been drawn into Group G for the 2026 World Cup.

Their path in the tournament is expected to be challenging, as they will face several tough opponents during the group stage.

The teams in Group G include Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.

Fans are eager to see whether Putros and Iraq can produce positive results at the 2026 World Cup.

Persib Bandung Set for Financial Boost Thanks to Frans Putros

Persib Bandung is projected to enjoy a financial windfall in the 2026/2027 season thanks to Frans Putros and former player Gervane Kastaneer.

Both players have been selected for their national squads for the 2026 World Cup.

Gervane Kastaneer was the first to be confirmed after the Curaçao national team announced his inclusion in their World Cup squad on 18 May 2026.

More recently, Frans Putros was officially named in Iraq’s final squad for the tournament on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Beyond the pride it brings to Bobotoh and Persib Bandung, Putros’s inclusion also translates into financial gain for the club.

The reason lies in FIFA’s Club Benefit Programme, under which Persib Bandung will receive compensation for both Putros and Kastaneer.

FIFA’s payment structure is not based on players’ minutes played at the World Cup but rather on the number of days they are under national team duty.

The calculation begins from the start of pre-World Cup preparations until the conclusion of the tournament.

The compensation is distributed evenly among all clubs that a player has represented in the two years leading up to the 2026 World Cup.

As a result, Persib Bandung will receive fresh funds from FIFA through Gervane Kastaneer’s participation.

However, the exact amount Persib will receive under this programme remains undisclosed.

Nevertheless, the additional funds could help Persib Bandung strengthen their squad by signing new targets.

The club has been actively pursuing several star players for the 2026/2027 season.

In addition to domestic competitions, Persib Bandung will also compete in the AFC Champions League Two and the ASEAN Club Championship next season.
