iOS 27 could be unveiled at Apple's WWDC 2026. Ahead of this annual Worldwide Developers Conference, a recent report suggests that certain older iPhone models will not receive this new update. The next-generation iPhone operating system is expected to be announced during the WWDC keynote on June 8; updates for iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and macOS 27 may also be introduced during the event.

iOS 27 Compatible Devices: Models That Won't Get the Update
Every year, alongside the launch of a new operating system, the company discontinues support for some older devices. 'Instant Digital' reported on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging site) that iOS 27 will support only the iPhone 12 series and newer models. This implies that older models released prior to the iPhone 12 series will not receive the new OS update; if this information proves accurate, support for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, and the second-generation iPhone SE will end. These devices were launched between 2019 and 2020 and have already received major iOS updates for several years.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed the compatibility list, and this information is based on leaks. Some older iPad models may also lose support with iPadOS 27, though details remain unclear. Regarding Macs, support for Intel-powered Macs will end with macOS 27.

Supported iPhone Models
According to leaks, the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16 series, Apple's latest iPhone 17 series, and the third-generation iPhone SE will support the new OS. An official list from the company is expected to be released soon.
