Top 10 Wingers on the Market This Summer: Arsenal and Liverpool Eye Moves as £112m Star Tops the List

There is an exceptional number of wingers and wide forwards available for transfer in the upcoming summer window, making it quite a challenge to narrow them down to the top ten.

Clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal are expected to be active in the hunt for a new winger. Liverpool aim to mount a serious Premier League title challenge, while Arsenal will look to defend their crown.

The term ‘available’ is quite flexible these days. It doesn’t necessarily mean that a player’s current club has officially listed them for sale, but rather that a transfer could realistically happen under the right circumstances.

Every footballer comes with a price tag, though limits always exist. Take Vinicius Junior, for example. His situation is tricky; though his Real Madrid contract expires next year, a renewal seems likely. Still, his hypothetical valuation at around £100 million would be excessive for someone in the final year of their deal.

Before diving into the top ten, several players deserve honourable mentions for their potential availability this summer.

The honourable mentions include Christos Tzolis (Club Brugge), Mika Godts (Ajax), Savinho (Manchester City), Crysencio Summerville (West Ham), Rayan (Bournemouth), Abde Ezzalzouli (Real Betis), Antonio Nusa (RB Leipzig), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Said El Mala (FC Koln), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Harry Wilson (Fulham), Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad), Christian Pulisic (AC Milan), Assane Diao (Como), Jack Grealish (Manchester City) and Baris Yilmaz (Galatasaray).

Investing in wingers from the Eredivisie can be risky business. Mohammed Kudus stands out as one of the few successful big-money signings, while Cody Gakpo has shown flashes of brilliance. Others, such as Antony and Memphis Depay, have struggled to make the same impact.

Antony’s final Eredivisie campaign before his £80 million move to Manchester United produced only eight goals and four assists in 23 matches. By comparison, Godts managed 17 goals and 13 assists in 34 league games during the 2025/26 season — far superior numbers, even if his Champions League record included just one goal involvement across eight appearances.

Choosing the No.10 spot was especially tough, but Godts’ excellent Eredivisie statistics and his young age — turning 21 on June 7 — gave him a slight advantage over other contenders.

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen is another player who could attract major interest. Despite the club’s relegation, Bowen performed superbly, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists across all 38 Premier League matches in 2025/26. His consistency over the years — including 22 goal involvements in both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, and 24 in 2021/22 — makes him one of the most reliable options on the market at 29 years old. A word of advice, though: anyone but Chelsea, Bowen.

Rafael Leao remains one of the most difficult players to assess. He could either dominate the Premier League or struggle to adapt entirely — there seems to be no middle ground. While Chelsea once seemed his likely destination, that possibility has faded. With Liverpool seeking a winger but not reportedly in for him, Arsenal could be the more natural fit. Newcastle United might also suit, though perhaps not for Leao himself. Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain could also emerge as realistic options, with PSG’s Portuguese contingent providing an attractive pull. Either way, it feels like the time has come for him to depart AC Milan.

Mohamed Salah had an underwhelming 2025/26 season by his standards, yet his name still carries immense weight. Now 34, Salah won’t replicate his 29-goal, 18-assist campaign from 2024/25, but even a moderate return would make him a valuable asset. With his Liverpool exit confirmed, he could be available on a free transfer — though his wages will undoubtedly be substantial.

Nico Williams, who signed a 10-year extension with Athletic Bilbao last summer, still has a release clause of around €90 million (£77.8 million). Although he only managed six goals and four assists in 25 appearances due to injuries, his potential remains immense, especially given his standout performances for Spain at Euro 2024. If he can stay fit, Williams could elevate any team he joins — and he’ll be one to watch at the World Cup.

Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, much like Rayan Cherki, is a creative attacking talent capable of operating across multiple positions. His flair and unpredictability make him an appealing target for any top side chasing league titles or Champions League qualification. The fact that he’s part of France’s stacked World Cup squad says plenty about his talent level.

Kenan Yildiz, meanwhile, has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest young prospects. Linked with Real Madrid and Arsenal, the 21-year-old netted 11 goals and provided 10 assists across 47 appearances in 2025/26. He’ll play a central role for Turkey at the World Cup alongside Arda Guler, as Arsenal continue searching for a top-class winger to build on their Premier League triumph.

Bradley Barcola of PSG is another winger attracting significant attention, particularly from Arsenal and Liverpool. With competition from Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia limiting his minutes under Luis Enrique, Barcola could pursue a move elsewhere as PSG consider cashing in.

Mason Greenwood’s record of 48 goals and 17 assists in 81 games for Marseille makes him a productive yet controversial option. At 24, he still has time on his side, though a return to the Premier League is off the table. Any move would likely take him to PSG, La Liga, Serie A, or the Saudi Pro League.

Finally, the standout winger on the market this summer is Leipzig’s teenage sensation, Diomande. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international delivered 12 goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga as Leipzig secured a third-place finish and Champions League qualification. Valued at around €130 million (£112 million), he’s one of the hottest properties in world football.

Liverpool are reportedly leading the chase to sign him as Salah’s long-term successor, with his ability to play on both flanks adding to his appeal. However, his affection for PSG could complicate matters. Bayern Munich and PSG are also monitoring the situation closely, while Arsenal and Real Madrid remain in the mix. Though Diomande could stay another season like Benjamin Sesko did in 2024, a major move seems inevitable — provided he stays injury-free.
