Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has suffered another major setback in Tamil Nadu. Party state vice president Karuna Nagarajan and state secretary Sumathi Venkatesan have resigned from their basic membership and all responsibilities. This development has come to light at a time when former state president Annamalai has distanced himself from the BJP and formed his own new organization, in which more than seven lakh people have voluntarily joined so far. These resignations have created a stir in Tamil Nadu BJP and deepened the atmosphere of uncertainty within the party.

After announcing his resignation, Karuna Nagarajan, while talking to journalists, made an indirect attack on nepotism within the BJP. He said in his statement that if MPs and MLAs are from the same family, then next time some other family should be given a chance. Nagarajan’s statement is being linked to the ideology of Annamalai’s new organization, which is emphasizing on new faces and wider participation. Praising the new organization of Annamalai, he said that under this, members of only one family will not hold these positions permanently, but new people will get the opportunity. He stressed that more than 7 lakh people have already voluntarily become part of this organization, which shows the growing mass base of Annamalai and signals the beginning of a new chapter in the political picture of Tamil Nadu.

Nagarajan joined Annamalai movement

Nagarajan clarified that he and his colleagues have joined Annamalai’s movement in support of her. He claimed that Annamalai enjoys widespread support from the people, youth and women of Tamil Nadu. According to Nagarajan, only Annamalai has the intellectual leadership that the people of Tamil Nadu expect. He described Annamalai as a strong leader who took the Bharatiya Janata Party to remote villages of the state. Taking a dig at the leaders of Delhi, Nagarajan said that people are not understanding their words and they are cut off from local sentiments. This statement is being seen as a challenge to the central leadership of BJP.

Annamalai has a large number of supporters on social media, which is a testament to her popularity. Nagarajan said that Annamalai is a person who can express frank opinions in every field, and the people of Tamil Nadu expect leaders like him who are straightforward and forthright. It is noteworthy that Annamalai had announced his separation from the Bharatiya Janata Party a few days ago by submitting his resignation letter to the party’s national president Nitin Nabin. According to reports, the BJP leadership had accepted his resignation, after which the BJP is facing continuous setbacks in Tamil Nadu and dissatisfaction is increasing within the party.

A large number of people are joining Annamalai’s movement.

After Annamalai left the party and announced the new organization, various people are joining his movement in large numbers. The resignation of Karuna Nagarajan, who held important positions like BJP state vice president, and state secretary Sumathi Venkatesan is part of this series, which shows that Annamalai’s influence is spreading rapidly in the state. Tamil Nadu BJP has suffered a major setback with these leaders voluntarily leaving the party and joining the Annamalai movement. It is expected that in the coming time, many more leaders and workers may join this new political movement of Annamalai, which may further weaken the position of BJP in the state and may have a deep impact on the performance of the party in the upcoming elections.
