Lifestyle Desk – In summer, when the taste of mango and curd comes together, the dessert becomes even more special. Many people have eaten Bengal’s famous Mishti Doi, but have you ever tried ‘Aam Doi’ at home? Although a lot of sugar is added to Mishti Doi, this Aam Doi is made without refined sugar, in which dates and ripe mangoes are used for natural sweetness. Let us know the easy recipe to make it at home.

Material

Thick curd-2 cups (hung curd or Greek yogurt)
Mango-1 big ripe sweet
Dates-6-8 seedless
Hot milk-2–3 tbsp
Cardamom powder-¼ tsp
chopped pistachios or almonds for garnishing

Method

  1. First of all, soak the dates in hot milk for 10-15 minutes. When they become soft, grind them with milk and make a smooth paste.
  2. Now peel the mango and cut it into small pieces. Prepare a smooth puree by grinding it in a mixer.
  3. Take thick curd in a big bowl. Add mango puree and date paste in it. If desired, add cardamom powder also. Mix everything well and make it uniform.
  4. Fill the mixture in small earthen pots or serving bowls. Keep it in the refrigerator for 3–4 hours so that it sets well. Add chopped pistachios, almonds or small pieces of mango on top. Serve chilled.
