Delhi: The influence of technology is continuously increasing in the world of cricket and now Artificial Intelligence (AI) is also going to play a big role in the training of young players. In this direction, AI based sports technology platform ‘Kabuni’ has announced its global launch during its ‘Playtime 2026’ event organized in Mumbai. The company aims to provide world-class coaching facilities to young cricketers through their mobile phones.
Kabuni believes that the biggest challenge for talented players is access to quality coaching and right guidance. The platform will analyze the players’ play with the help of AI technology and provide them personalized suggestions. With this, players from small towns and remote areas will also get an opportunity to get better training.
The platform has added many big names from the cricket world. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, South African legend AB de Villiers, Australia’s World Cup winner Shane Watson and Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer have been included as ‘Super Coaches’. All these veterans will guide the young players through special challenges, training programs and competitions.
Kabuni’s special technology ‘Kabuni PlayOS’ is capable of live analysis of players’ play. It provides instant feedback by assessing important aspects of batting and other skills such as balance, footwork, timing and technical coordination. The company claims that this system gives accurate suggestions to the players by learning from the performance data of the world’s top cricketers.
Along with the launch, the company launched ‘Do you want to play for a legend?’ A national campaign has been announced. Under this initiative, cricketers in the age group of 12 to 16 years from across the country will get an opportunity to participate. Selected players will participate in various stages of competitions and trials to become a part of the teams of super coaches.
During this program, young players will train on the Kabuni platform, go through multiple levels of selection process and ultimately get a chance to play in a national level youth tournament. Its aim is to provide a platform to such players who do not get access to traditional cricket academies or resources.
If this initiative is successful then the way of learning cricket and identifying talents can completely change in the future, where along with the field, smartphones will also become an important medium for the development of players.
