Mbappe has 15 trademarks of his name protected for possible commercial use in the European Economic Area, according to Spanish sports newspaper Mark.

These trademarks, including how he celebrates goals by crossing his arms over his chest, were all registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Spain’s Lamine Yamal and Argentina’s Lionel Messi are tied for second place with seven trademarks each. Messi’s trademarks include his signature, name and logo.

One of Yamal’s trademarks is his goal celebration, in which he forms the number 3 with three fingers on his left hand, a 0 by bringing his thumb and index finger together, and a 4 with four fingers on his right hand.

The number 304 represents the last three digits of the postal code of Rocafonda, a working-class neighborhood in his hometown of Barcelona.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo ranks fourth with six trademarks, including CR9, a reference to the No. 9 jersey he wore in his first season at Real Madrid.

Messi and Ronaldo previously tied for the most registered trademarks back when the 2022 World Cup took place in Qatar.

Trademark registration helps players commercialize their brand, prevent unauthorized use and boost their marketability.

Some coaches also register trademarks, including Unai Emery, Alvaro Arbeloa, Rafa Benitez, Fabio Capello, Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp and Vincent Kompany. Mourinho’s most famous trademark is “The Special One,” a nickname he has carried since 2004.

Below are the 10 footballers with the most registered trademarks in the world:

1. Kylian Mbappe (France) – 15 trademarks
2. Lamine Yamal (Spain), Lionel Messi (Argentina) – 7
4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) – 6
5. Vinicius (Brazil) – 5
6. Cole Palmer (England), Jude Bellingham (England), Jamal Musiala (Germany) – 4
9. Neymar (Brazil), Karim Benzema (France) – 2

Most of the top 10 are set to take part in the 2026 World Cup, with the exception of Cole Palmer and Karim Benzema.
