Jahangir was away from home after the election results were announced. His search was continuing. Now Bengal STF has arrested him.

Action in case of 2024 elections

Jahangir faces serious allegations of intimidating people during the 2024 elections, extorting money, illegally occupying land and possessing unaccounted wealth. In the 2024 elections, Mamata's nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee had won from the Diamond Harbor seat by a record margin of about 7 lakh votes. It is believed that Jahangir had the biggest role in giving Abhishek such a big victory. Staying behind the scenes, he made the strategy for this complete victory and implemented it on the ground.
