Preparations for the NEET re-exam have intensified. The NTA's entire effort is focused on preventing paper leaks and ensuring the exam is conducted transparently. As part of this initiative to make the re-exam completely secure, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is being enlisted to assist. According to sources, the question papers for the NEET re-exam, scheduled for June 21, will be transported to exam centers across the country using IAF Mi-17 helicopters and other military aircraft. The decision to seek the Indian Air Force's assistance was made during a meeting held earlier at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's residence.

Let us understand the entire matter in detail. We will look at the preparations underway for the NEET re-exam and the specific role the Indian Air Force is playing in this regard.

**Papers to be transported from 18 locations to distribution hubs**
According to sources, the Indian Air Force will transport packets containing the confidential NEET re-exam question papers from 18 designated locations to exam centers and distribution hubs. The objective is to ensure there are no paper leaks or security lapses during the examination process.

**Paper-setters to remain in isolation**
Stringent security measures have been implemented regarding the NEET re-exam papers. Following the paper leak controversy, the Ministry of Education and the National Testing Agency (NTA) are maintaining strict surveillance at every level to uphold the exam's confidentiality. Experts responsible for setting the question papers, translators, and other staff members have been moved to secure, undisclosed locations. This arrangement will remain in effect until the exam concludes on June 21. The use of mobile phones, the internet, and other digital devices has been prohibited.

**Exam cancelled following NEET paper leak**
The NEET-UG exam was originally conducted on May 3. More than 2.2 million (22 lakh) candidates appeared for the test; however, on May 7, a sample paper went viral that contained questions identical to those in the actual main examination. A subsequent investigation revealed that the NEET-UG paper had been leaked. Following this, the Ministry of Education cancelled the NEET-UG exam that had been conducted on May 3. A re-examination is now being held on June 21, in which over 2.2 million candidates will participate.
