New Delhi. The political crisis in Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress is deepening. 20 MPs of the party have decided to leave TMC. These MPs will soon inform the Lok Sabha Speaker about their decision. TMC has 28 MPs in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, the rebel faction of TMC has claimed to have 20 MPs with them. These rebel MPs say that they do not want Abhishek Banerjee but Kakoli Ghosh as their leader in the Lok Sabha. Regarding this, a meeting of MPs was held at Shatabdi Roy's house, in which CM Subhendu Adhikari was also present.

After the meeting was over, when Subhendu Adhikari came out of Shatabdi Roy's house, he showed the victory sign in front of the media. It is being told that Shubhendu Adhikari was present with the MPs for about 40 minutes. During this time, senior TMC MP and considered close to Abhishek Banerjee, Partha Bhowmik was also seen there. Parth Bhowmik is an MP from Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. Showing the victory sign of Shubhendu Adhikari has become a subject of many discussions in political circles.
MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who is leading the rebel faction of TMC, said that there are 20 MPs with her and all of them have demanded arrangement of sitting separately from the Lok Sabha Speaker. Kakoli Ghosh said that his group wants to work together with the central and state governments for the development of West Bengal. He also said that they are against the increasing anarchy, misgovernance and unemployment in the state in the last few years. He believes that a new political direction is needed for the development of Bengal.
Kunal Ghosh said in an emotional tone that there is no betrayal in his blood. He said that he stands strongly with TMC and Mamata Banerjee. He said that those who will be with 'Didi' i.e. Mamata Banerjee, will also stand with her as a companion and worker. Kunal Ghosh made it clear that he will not leave the party under any circumstances.
The growing rebellion within TMC, demand of MPs to sit separately and questions being raised regarding party leadership have heated up the politics of West Bengal. If a large number of MPs leave the party, it will not only affect TMC's strength in the Lok Sabha but major changes may also be seen in the politics of the state. In the coming days, all eyes will be on the next step of Mamata Banerjee and TMC leadership.
