The government has significantly tightened security measures for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The Air Force will transport question papers to 18 locations, and admit cards will be released on June 14, 2026.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented extremely stringent security measures for NEET UG 2026, the country's largest medical entrance exam. Several major decisions have been taken to ensure the re-examination, scheduled for June 21, 2026, is secure and transparent.
Security for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination has been vastly strengthened compared to previous instances. The primary objective of the NTA and the government is to make the examination completely leak-proof and fair.
Key personnel associated with the exam—such as paper setters, moderators, and translators—have been placed in high-security isolation, where mobile phones, the internet, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
The examination process now incorporates a multi-layered security system; the entire workflow—from the creation of question papers to their delivery at exam centers—is being executed in distinct stages to prevent any lapses.
A major change is that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been entrusted with the responsibility of securely delivering the question papers. The Air Force will safely transport the papers to 18 different locations across the country.
From these 18 locations, the question papers will be forwarded to the respective exam centers. The entire system has been designed to completely eliminate the possibility of a paper leak or tampering at any stage.
A significant update for candidates is that the admit card for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be released on June 14, 2026. Candidates will be able to download it exclusively from the official website, www.neet.nta.nic.in, using their application number, password, and security pin.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper) on June 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The exam will be held across 551 cities in the country and 14 cities abroad, enabling lakhs of candidates to participate.
