According to a recent report by Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson. The report suggests that the Red Devils are making significant progress toward finalising a move for the Brazilian star during this summer's transfer period.

Ederson delivered a string of impressive performances in the heart of Atalanta’s midfield throughout the previous season. The 26-year-old scored three goals and provided two assists in 41 appearances for the Serie A side across all competitions last term.

Widely regarded as one of the standout central midfielders in Serie A, Ederson has been a key figure for the Bergamo-based club. As such, Manchester United would be making a shrewd acquisition if they manage to secure his services during this transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder’s current contract with Atalanta runs until the end of next season, a situation that could potentially allow United to negotiate a relatively cut-price deal this summer.
