In light of growing concerns regarding alleged irregularities in examinations, Abhijit Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), announced on Thursday that the party will unveil its education manifesto today. Concurrently, nationwide protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will commence. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk is also set to participate in this peaceful demonstration, which will kick off in the evening at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) campus.

Protests Begin at SPPU

During a press conference, Dipke stated that the nationwide protest is launching from SPPU today. He emphasized that the demonstration will be peaceful and within constitutional limits. The education manifesto being released today aims to address issues such as preventing question paper leaks, ensuring timely declaration of exam results, enhancing transparency in recruitment and entrance exams, holding exam officials accountable, and resolving problems faced by students due to delays and irregularities in conducting examinations.

According to Dipke, this movement, which began in Pune, will extend to several cities including Jaipur, Lucknow, Amritsar, and Bengaluru, culminating at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 20. He asserted that they will not retreat until the education minister resigns, as he is responsible for jeopardizing the future of over one crore students. Dipke also mentioned that their group is open to dialogue with the government, but accused officials of suspending CJP's social media accounts instead of engaging in discussions.

CJP's Message to the Government

He further stated that CJP conveys a significant message to the nation, asserting that the government cannot overlook the youth. Instead of dismissing their concerns as fake, efforts should be made to understand the issues and challenges faced by the country's young population. In recent weeks, the group has gained considerable popularity through social media campaigns highlighting examination-related concerns, establishing itself as a youth-led platform advocating for reforms in the education sector.
