The World Cup may be grabbing global attention, but the transfer market remains in full swing. Here’s a look at Thursday’s top football transfer rumours.

Manchester City have reportedly been told they must break the British transfer record if they are to secure the services of Elliot Anderson. Nottingham Forest have already rejected an offer that could have reached £120 million with add-ons, compelling the Cityzens to consider an even larger bid. As per The Guardian, Forest are demanding a sum exceeding the £125 million that Liverpool paid to sign Alexander Isak last summer — and they want the entire amount guaranteed.

Meanwhile, across Manchester, Manchester United are said to be monitoring Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegalese attacker has yet to agree on a new contract with Everton, who may be open to offers starting from around £60 million. According to Sky Sports, Ndiaye is among several versatile forward options being evaluated by the Red Devils.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s young midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery. The reigning European champions are reluctant to part ways with the 20-year-old, but Zaire-Emery is reportedly concerned about his playing time. El Nacional reports that Liverpool are preparing to test PSG’s stance with an €85 million (£73.3 million) bid.

The Reds might generate funds for that deal by offloading Federico Chiesa. The Italian winger has struggled to make an impact at Anfield and has publicly hinted at a desire to return to Serie A. According to Caughtoffside, any club wishing to sign him will need to pay around £17 million.

Leeds United are also ready to make a statement in the transfer market by targeting Ousmane Diomande. Following their successful Premier League survival, The Whites are reportedly prepared to pay a club-record £43 million to land the Sporting CP centre-back. As reported by Portugal’s A Bola, manager Daniel Farke is keen to move quickly amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Premier League clubs Coventry City and Hull City are said to be considering moves for Callum Wilson. The experienced striker netted seven goals despite limited playing time as West Ham suffered relegation last season.

In another potential high-profile move, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Juventus. The Italian giants are looking to bring in an experienced goalkeeper after failing to lure Liverpool’s Alisson. According to Corriere dello Sport, the World Cup-winning Argentine is open to the switch to Turin.
