On Thursday afternoon, emergency teams rushed to tackle a significant fire at a warehouse in Tracy, California. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing for miles, originating from a Medline Industries distribution center located on Promontory Parkway. According to the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services, aerial views revealed flames engulfing the facility, with large clouds of smoke ascending into the atmosphere. Footage from news helicopters indicated that multiple big-rig containers and vehicles were also ablaze. The fire seemed to be primarily affecting the Medline warehouse, which provides medical-surgical products and supply chain services to healthcare institutions.
At approximately 1:45 PM, the Tracy Police Department advised residents and drivers to steer clear of the Promontory Parkway and Hansen Road area as firefighters worked to control the flames. Police were on-site to assist with evacuations and manage traffic around the incident. Authorities confirmed that the Medline facility and adjacent warehouses were evacuated as a safety measure. However, the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services stated that the fire was contained to the Medline building, and no evacuation orders were issued for the surrounding community.
The Tracy Fire Department reported receiving support from neighboring agencies as they fought to bring the fire under control. ALERTCalifornia cameras and aerial images captured a significant plume of smoke rising from the warehouse complex. This industrial area houses several major distribution centers, including those operated by companies like Amazon and FedEx, and is situated about eight miles west of downtown Tracy and roughly 30 miles southwest of Stockton. Officials announced that Promontory Parkway would remain closed while emergency operations continued. Currently, there is no information regarding injuries or the cause of the fire.
