Bayern Munich are reportedly closing in on the signing of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven with an upgraded offer valued at €53 million. The Moroccan midfielder has become a primary target for the Bundesliga champions as they aim to strengthen their midfield ahead of the upcoming season.

Bayern increase bid for Saibari

As per reports from Eindhoven Dagblad, Bayern Munich have submitted a significantly improved proposal for Saibari. The German side have tabled a package worth €53 million, which includes performance-based bonuses, in an attempt to persuade PSV to sanction the transfer of their star playmaker.

The deal reportedly includes a guaranteed payment of €48 million, with an additional €5 million contingent on certain performance clauses. While Saibari is currently representing Morocco in their World Cup preparations, his agents are actively working to finalise what could be a career-defining move to the Allianz Arena.

PSV eye club-record sale

Despite the substantial offer, PSV Eindhoven are pushing to secure the highest possible return from the negotiations. The Dutch champions are focusing not only on the total transfer value but also on the payment structure and timeline that align with their financial planning before giving final approval.

If the transfer proceeds at the proposed valuation, Ismael Saibari will become PSV’s most expensive outgoing player in club history. The Eredivisie title-holders acknowledge the immense contribution of the 25-year-old midfielder but appear ready to let him go considering the scale of Bayern’s financial offer.

Financial considerations delay official confirmation

All sides involved are reportedly targeting a contract signing date after June 30, a timing chosen to benefit PSV’s fiscal reporting period. This scheduling provides the club with potential tax and accounting advantages in the new financial year.

Nonetheless, this administrative delay is not expected to slow down the process. Saibari may undergo his medical tests before the end of June to ensure a smooth transition. In a proactive gesture, Bayern are believed to have agreed to cover the insurance risk between the medical checks and the official activation of the contract in July.

Saibari’s achievements with PSV

Saibari’s departure will conclude a highly successful chapter in Eindhoven, where he has evolved into one of Europe’s standout midfielders. Over the past two seasons, his performances have been impressive — particularly during the 2025–26 campaign, when he recorded 19 goals and nine assists in 39 matches across all competitions.

During his time with PSV, Saibari has accumulated eight major trophies, including three Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cups, and three Johan Cruyff Shields.
