Samsung has started rolling out the new One UI 8.5 update for its Galaxy S25 series smartphones. According to reports, this update has currently been released in South Korea. Through this update, some of the new Galaxy AI features introduced with the Galaxy S26 series are now available to S25 users as well. Along with this, Android security patch of June 2026 has also been included in the phone.
User Tarun Vats on X (earlier Twitter) has shared information about this. According to him, this new software version is coming with build number S938NKSUACZF1. Its size is much larger than the usual security updates that come every month, which shows that new features have also been added to it. The biggest attraction of this update is the AI based notification management system. This system will automatically identify and prioritize the most important notifications for the user. This feature will prove to be very useful for those who receive a lot of notifications throughout the day.
Apart from this, a feature called "Notification Summary" has also been provided in the update. It will analyze multiple notifications at once and prepare a short summary of them. With this, in case of long messages or group chats, you will get the main information without reading each notification separately. Additionally, another new Galaxy AI feature called “File Summaries” has come to the S25 series. This feature can read PDF and TXT format files inside the phone and create a short summary of them. The company claims that this process happens on the device itself, due to which the user's privacy is maintained. These AI features were launched with the Galaxy S26 series, but the S25 models did not get it in the initial version of One UI 8.5. Now with this new update this deficiency has been removed.
Currently this update is available only in South Korea. If reports are to be believed, it will also be released soon in markets like India, Europe and North America. Users can check whether they have received the update by going to their phone's Settings and clicking on Software Update and then Download and Install.
