While posting on X, Elvish wrote - I want to clear one thing to those who call me a supporter of BJP. It was Maneka Gandhi who had filed a false case against me in the snake poison case. It is clear from this that I do not support any political party. I know the difference between right and wrong. I have always stood with the students and raised their issues. But yes…I will always oppose anyone trying to run an anti-national agenda under the guise of student politics or student movement. I have raised my voice on such issues before and will continue to do so.”
Actually, this statement came at a time when, just a few hours ago, Elvish Yadav had taken a dig at the 'Cockroach Janata Party' and said that he has started an imaginary organization 'Khargosh Janata Party (KJP). He also invited people to visit Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and jokingly promised to give them free carrots.
