New Delhi: India has again registered its strong protest against America after the death of three Indian sailors in the attack on a merchant ship off the coast of Oman. India has clearly said that targeting civilian and commercial ships cannot be accepted under any circumstances. India says that the safety of ships plying on international sea routes should be ensured and incidents that endanger the lives of innocent sailors should be stopped.

United Nations and other organizations also expressed concern

Many international organizations and countries have also reacted regarding this matter. The United Nations and other global organizations have emphasized on respecting the rules to maritime security. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) said that the safety of people working at sea should be the top priority. The organization also said that international laws should be followed in every situation.

IMO condemned the incident

The International Maritime Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, has expressed deep concern over the incident. According to the organization, the ship suffered serious damage and caught fire in the attack near the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the loss of three sailors’ lives. IMO Secretary General Arsenio Dominguez said any action that threatens the safety of seafarers and international shipping should be condemned. He also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.

24 Indian crew members were present on the ship

According to the information, a total of 24 Indian crew members were present on the ship at the time of the attack on Palau flagged tanker MT Setebelo near the Oman coast. Of these, 21 people were rescued safely, while three Indian sailors died. The deceased have been identified as Deck Cadet Aditya Sharma, Engine Fitter Shivanand Chaurasia and Chief Engineer Patnala Suresh. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning and concern in the entire country.

India laid emphasis on peace and diplomacy

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had already made it clear that attacks on merchant ships carrying Indian citizens should stop immediately. He described dialogue and diplomatic efforts as the best way to reduce tension and restore peace in the region.

America gave its clarification

On the other hand, the American Army has also presented its stand regarding this action. America claims that the ship concerned did not follow the instructions issued by it, due to which action was taken. However, despite this clarification, India has expressed serious concern on this issue, calling the safety of its citizens a top priority. At the same time, the Central Government has instructed the security agencies to remain alert and maintain constant coordination with the Indian Navy so that such incidents can be dealt with in future.
